Success Stories

The first Potcake puppy ever rescued by 4 Leaf Rover arrived in the United States in December of 2020. Since then, as of May 2022, 4 Leaf Rover has brought a total of 15 Potcakes to the U.S.

We do our best to follow their progress and development and are proud to say we know exactly where they all are today.
Currently, thirteen of them (Turk, Coraline, Isla, Caicos, Ozlo, Pupcake, Maisie, Rufus, Rum, Breezy, Brodi, Sadie, and Rocket) live in Ohio and two (Hudson and Rukia) live in Austin, Texas.

Ocean's Six
Rum, Brodi, Breezy, Hudson, Rukia, & Rosie

This beautiful little group of six was rescued by our field team after someone informed us of its existence and threatened to drown the pups in the ocean if we didn't take them. We aptly gave the name Ocean to the first puppy we were able to capture.
Over the course of the next few days, we found the rest of the litter and provided basic treatment. All puppies were between 3 and 4 lbs, and approximately five to six weeks old; we knew they would all need homes urgently if we wanted them to have a chance at survival.
Five of them were flown to the United States: Hudson and Rukia arrived in Texas on April 29th, 2022, while Rum, Breezy, and Brodi arrived in Ohio on April 30th, 2022.
All five had new families within a couple of days. Rosie remained in Turks and Caicos, and now lives in Grand Turk where her new family was anxious to welcome her home!

Originally named Ocean by our team, Rum Raisin now lives in Mansfield, Ohio with his big pitbull brother Sgt. Benson, his big Potcake brother Turk, and his big Potcake sister Isla!

Hudson (above) and Rukia (right) were flown to Austin, Texas with part of our team and found homes with people who work at the vet clinic...how perfect is that?? They get to come into the clinic and see each other on a regular basis, too!

Breezy and Brodi now live on a farm in Mansfield, Ohio with their new family!

The only one from this group that remained in Turks & Caicos, Rosie was adopted by a sweet family in Grand Turk!

ROCKET

Rocket was found living under a bush in Providenciales, Turks & Caicos, weak and filled with ticks and fleas, without a single hair on his little body as a result of sarcoptic mange.
He was flown back to Ohio on May 7th, 2022, where the Fry family was excited to welcome him home!
He is happily adjusting to life in Ohio with his big brother Ludo, plus human brother Nolan and human sister Raelynn!

Turk was barely alive when our founder, Dr Susan Burkhart, first met him in Turks & Caicos. He was covered in fleas and ticks as well as severely anemic.

Dr. Burkhart flew back to the United States with Turk under her seat and nursed him back to health in hopes of placing him with a family that would love him and give him a chance at a wonderful life.

Today, Turk has the life Dr. Burkhart dreamed of for him. He lives in Lexington, Ohio, with his parents, a human sister, a doggy brother named Sergeant Benson, a little Potcake sister named Isla, and a tiny Potcake brother named Rum.

Turk's story was featured in the local news source in April of 2021 to support a fundraising campaign for one of 4 leaf Rover's missions.

SADIE

Found alone and injured in the middle of a road in Providenciales, Turks & Caicos, Sadie had bite wounds on her head and was covered in fleas and ticks.

She was flown back to the U.S. on May 7th, 2022, where the Mitchell family was eager to welcome her home!

ISLA & CORAL

These precious sisters came back to the United States in May of 2021 after a rough start in life. Each was adopted by a loving family and is now healthy and happy. Isla and Coral live close to each other, so their families get them together from time to time and they love every minute!
